There may be few who would challenge the view that accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation is essential for integrated, effective, efficient and safe delivery of care. However, documentation may not always be as complete or accurate as Clinicians may wish, and working with, and adding to, clinical documentation can also be a challenge.  85% of NHS healthcare professionals said the burden of clinical documentation is a significant contributor to burnout in a 2021 Nuance survey (over 900 respondents).
In order to understand and quantify the challenges of clinical documentation, Nuance commissioned Ignetica Ltd to undertake a study with Doctors, Nurses and AHPs in Acute, Mental and Community health settings in NHS England. In this webinar, we will present insights from this study and explore how it compares to a similar study we published in 2015. We will also discuss these research findings with our expert panel of speakers, concluding with a live Q&A.
Join this webinar to learn:
- What are some of the key challenges of clinical documentation?
- What are the consequent patient, operational and economic impacts?
- How often is clinical data not available, sufficiently accurate, or complete?
- How much time are Doctors, Nurses and AHPs spending on documentation?
- Are there significant differences between the Acute, Mental and Community health settings?
- How have perceptions changed since the last study, conducted in 2015 – has EPR maturity helped?
- How can the NHS address these challenges, and can technology help to ease the documentation burden?
