IMMJ Systems given a place on the UK Government’s G-Cloud 10 Framework

IMMJ Systems has been given a place on the UK Government’s G-Cloud 10 Framework.

The framework is made up of agreements between the government and suppliers and is seen to be faster and cheaper than entering into individual procurement contracts.

The company, which provides electronic document management systems (EDMS), had to prove their suitability as a secure provider as well as list details regarding their product and prices, in order to be given a place.

IMMJ Systems CEO, Michael van de Weg, said: “We are proud to be awarded a place on the G-Cloud 10 Framework and look forward to supporting the UK public health sector with the move from paper to digital healthcare records.

“Our Cloud-based electronic document management solution, MediViewer – built specifically for healthcare – will power the NHS towards a paperless environment.”

Gordon Wilson, CEO of Advanced, said: “The NHS is undergoing a digital transformation that will impact us all and is constantly looking for new ways to innovate.

“Adding Docman’s acclaimed cloud software to our own strong portfolio of healthcare solutions means we have a more comprehensive offering to support the NHS in achieving its goals.

Real-life GP data powers major anticoagulants study

Anonymised patient data from the records of 1,500 GP practices using EMIS Web has enabled a major new study into the risks and benefits of modern anticoagulant drugs.

Researchers at the National Institute for Health Research School for Primary Care Research (NIHR SPCR) used the QResearch database – which draws on routinely captured data from participating EMIS practices – for their study, comparing the health outcomes of patients treated with three commonly-prescribed direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) with those treated with warfarin.

Dr Shaun O’Hanlon, chief medical officer of EMIS Group, said: “This important study is the latest in a long list of research projects that has been powered by real-life data collected from thousands of GP consultations every day.

“We are grateful to the 1,500 GP practices that support QResearch; without them, this important initiative would not be available to help to improve the health of the nation.  It is fitting in the 70th anniversary year of the NHS that we have been able to support such a landmark study.”

Welsh Health Board shakes up records management with Idox Health

Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board is the second site in Wales to sign up to Idox Health’s iFIT logistics management platform.

Idox Health’s Records management module iRecords is expected to go live across the Health Board’s four acute hospital sites by December 2018.

Once rolled out, it is hoped the system will help create a more efficient approach to the filing, pulling and tracing of patient records, while delivering intuitive tracking technology that ensures the timely retrieval of records ahead of appointments to support a positive patient experience.

Sian Richards, head of digital records and information assurance for the Board, said: “iRecords will allow us to streamline our processes across all of our sites, driving efficiency savings and support the Health Board’s transition to digitisation.”
