Servelec snags mental health EPR contract in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is rolling out a new electronic patient record system for mental health services, supplied by Servelec HSC.

The trust, which cares for some 718,800 people in the East Midlands, will deploy Servelec’s RiO solution across its Community Mental Health Services, Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

The new electronic patient record (EPR) is due to go live by September 2018 and will replace the current platform provided by Silverlink, support for which expires this year.

Servelec HSC was awarded Lot 2 of the tender issued by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to deliver an electronic clinical system to support secondary care mental health services.

The contract covers a period of five years, with the trust expected to spend in excess of £1 million implementing the new EPR.

The new EPR will improve the sharing of records and continuity of care for patients, thereby improving patient experience by reducing the need for them to submit the same information when they visit a different hospital.

At the same time, clinicians and community workers will be able to access and share key information regarding treatment and care across different care settings, including clinical safety information.

Sarah Connery, director of finance and information at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, told Digital Health News: “We have worked closely with our staff, commissioners and patient representatives to build a specification that best meets our needs and look forward to working with Servelec HSC to develop an easy to use, intuitive but robust clinical system that can enable our staff to work as effectively and efficiently as possible to care for our patients.”

Alan Stubbs, CEO at Servelec HSC, said: “Servelec HSC has an established footprint in the Lincolnshire region with our Synergy admissions system and Mosaic case management solution currently deployed in the region.

“With our healthcare, social care and education solutions embedded in Lincolnshire, this brings exciting opportunities to support and deliver the big picture of care to the citizens in Lincolnshire.”

In a separate story, Digital Health News reported in March how Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust also deployed a Servelec HSC EPR.
