ISoft’s Lorenzo Observations goes mobile
- 28 January 2011
ISoft has launched Lorenzo Smart Solutions Observations on BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7.
Using Lorenzo Smart Solutions Observations apps, doctors are able to download daily workloads and appointments and community nurses are able to record patient details.
In addition, patients will be able to check vital signs, arrange appointments and referrals, and order repeat prescriptions.
Adrian Stevens, managing director of iSoft said: “The NHS is a particularly prolific user of BlackBerry smart phones so already has the critical mass and requisite infrastructure, including security.”
The health IT company has joined the BlackBerry Alliance Programme as an Elite Member in order to develop and provide a range of applications that allow clinical staff to deliver care more efficiently using mobile technology.
The company has also launched the solution on Windows Phone 7 to allow clinicians to securely access patient lists and record observations without storing patient data on the device.
Providers are able to choose whether to make the data available across the organisations WiFi network or any WiFi or 3G connection.
The company said it aims to develop and make apps available wherever it can on mobile phones, including for the iPhone as announced last year.
Michael Dahlweid, iSoft’s chief medical officer, added: "The Lorenzo Smart Solutions Observations application for Windows Phone 7 is part of iSoft’s Smart Solution strategy to provide sophisticated, market-specific functionalities to clinicians and administrative users as quickly and effectively as possible.
“These Lorenzo Smart Solutions provide modules of functionality to support particular business functions and can be delivered on devices appropriate for the consumer.”
The app is available from Windows Phone 7 apps for €39.99.
