EMIS Web v2 on show next week

  • 6 November 2009

Primary care system supplier EMIS has announced that it will preview version 2 of its next generation system EMIS Web at E-Health Insider Live ’09 next week.

The company said it will be the first time the system has been shown outside the EMIS National User Group and follows the completion of internal testing. The system is currently undergoing NHS Connecting for Health accreditation.

EMIS said a unique feature of v2 is a record interrogation tool that conducts instant, automated searches of the electronic patient record. This enables clinicians to pull together information about a patient’s care, including risk assessments and Quality and Outcomes Framework information, in seconds.

EMIS said more than 1,000 early adopters are using version 1 of EMIS Web including GPs, community staff and secondary care clinicians in NHS Tower Hamlets, NHS Liverpool and NHS Cumbria.

In Tower Hamlets, the system is being used by 300 community staff to access relevant data from the GP record and record consultations. The work that is going on in the PCT will be presented in a Best Practice Showcase at E-Health Insider Live ’09 on Tuesday 10 November.

Sean Riddell, EMIS managing director, said: “EMIS Web v2 is the biggest piece of software, requiring the most detailed testing, that we have ever undertaken in the history of EMIS.

“We are delighted to unveil the system at E-Health Insider Live ’09 and I would encourage everyone at the conference to come and see the system for themselves – I am confident they will be inspired by the almost limitless possibilities it offers.”
