Istanbul Oncology rolls out RamSoft PACS

The Istanbul Oncology Centre has announced that it has completed the roll-out of a Picture Archiving and Communication System from RamSoft.

The Centre chose to implement the PowerServer PACs system in May 2008 in order to improve workflows for its radiologists and oncologists.

Before the installation, radiologists could only review images on modality workstations and were unable to see patients’ oncology images, which prevented them from consulting and reviewing details at the same time.

As a result of the implementation, staff at The Istanbul Oncology Centre, which is one of the few oncology-specific healthcare organisations in Turkey, are now able to access past information and combined images from anywhere with internet access.

Nuri Tasali, managing director and president of The Istanbul Oncology Centre, said: “We decided to go with RamSoft because it has great hanging protocols and alert systems.

"RamSoft PowerServer PACS is in our daily routine. RamSoft and iMedIT [the distributor of the system] has been incredibly responsive to our needs.

“Our radiologists and oncologists are very happy with the RamSoft PowerServer PACS. We feel it is more intuitive and easier to use than any other systems we have seen.”

RamSoft is a Canada-based IT software and services company that develops and deploys PACS/RIS (Radiology Information System) and Teleradiology solutions across the world.
