iSoft signs sixth German Lorenzo site

  • 2 July 2009

iSoft has announced that Christophorus-Kliniken will become the sixth early adopter of its Lorenzo system in Germany.

The organisation is an existing client for iSoft’s ClinicCentre, LabCentre and BusinessCentre systems. The new contract covers three hospitals in Coesfeld, Dulmen and Nottuln in North Rhine-Westphalia, which provide a total of 620 beds and employ 1,500 staff.

The five year deal is worth up to €1.43m in licence fees and services and is being rolled out in phases. The first two phases include an upgrade of ClinicCentre and the first Lorenzo components. The optional third phase includes additional Lorenzo functionality.

The first Lorenzo elements and iSoft’s Collaboration Suite (iCS) will provide a new electronic patient record for GPs to access hospital records, using standard web browsers.

“This is further evidence that our new Lorenzo technology is gaining traction with our existing client based in Europe, and is part of our broader strategy for Lorenzo outside the UK’s National Programme for IT in the NHS,” said Gary Cohen, executive chair and chief executive of iSoft.

Other early adopters in Germany are Aachen, Leipzig, Krankenhaul Buchholz and Winsen and Klinikum Saarbruken.
