Trafford chooses SRC for digital dictation

  • 15 May 2009

Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust has announced it is deploying a trust wide digital dictation solution from SRC, based on WinScribe digital dication technology.

Vincent Doyle, project leader at the trust said: “SRC is providing us with a platform that has the capability to streamline document creation processes now and in the future, in line with our own targets and Department of Health targets.

“This project is a major component of our overall IT strategy as we move away from paper based work flows.”

The technology is being deployed to more than 200 users and will automatically transfer dictations to typists so clinicians no longer have to hand over tapes for transcription.

Doyle continued: “Before making our selection we visited other trusts and were impressed with how SRC has eliminated typing backlogs, improved document turnaround times and provided rapid returns on investment."

SRC will also provide both Philips desktop and portable recording devices and professional services including project management , implementation, training and ongoing support.

Chris Hart, chief executive officer at SRC said: “We are delivering systems that enable trusts to meet demanding patient care targets whilst providing excellent economic value.”
