Zebra helps make patient ID a priority

Zebra Technologies has announced a partnership with Tracline, to help hospitals fulfill National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) directives. Tracline, a specialist healthcare IT supplier, will use Zebra’s wristband printers, and QL label printers as part of a wider system to record basic patient ID by July ‘08, in line with NPSA deadlines.

Manpower Software and PwC Working Together to Deliver MAPS Healthroster

Manpower Software, a provider of workforce optimisation and electronic rostering solutions, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has announced the formation of a strategic alliance to deliver the benefits from implementing Manpower Software’s MAPS Healthroster solution in the UK NHS. PwC are working with a large number of tusts within the NHS and have been successfully involved in helping improve the quality of health care delivered and the financial position of many of these organisations.

Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Trust choose Mede International

London-based Mede International (Mede), a wholly owned subsidiary of Emeryville, CA-based MedeFinance, has contracted to provide advanced business intelligence to Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Trust. Visibility into quality of care and profitability by areas of service will allow the NHS trust executives to quickly understand the financial contribution of their portfolio of services, Mede says.

Northgate appoint new healthcare consultant

Northgate Information Solutions has announced the appointment of Carolyn Manuel-Barkin as principal healthcare consultant, as part of its drive to deliver new and innovative services, such as the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme, to healthcare organisations throughout the country. Barkin has extensive experience in providing formidable healthcare analysis and consultancy services across the NHS and other public services sectors. She joins Northgate from Matrix Knowledge Group, where she worked as managing consultant in a strategic role specialising in health and social care analysis, planning and strategy.
