CORDIS launch health research website
- 21 February 2008
CORDIS, the European Union’s Community Research and Development Service, has launched a new health research web service for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
The portal will provide an information point on the health of Europe’s citizens, advice on improving performance of health-related businesses and tackle global health issues.
It will run on a budget of €6.1 billion with features to include an ‘About Health’ page offering details of the three pillars of the health research focus, with particular emphasis on biotechnology and ensuring that research is specifically geared towards the improvement of human health.
A ‘Get Support’ link will also be available listing National Contact Points (NCPs), which forms the main basis for obtaining further information. Users will also find support for research applicants, proposal negotiation, project management and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Funding schemes are outlined, as well as training, from business skills at Bioentrepeneur Boot Camps to courses for scientists in project and innovation management. A page dedicated to ‘International cooperation’, an integral part of health research, explains the strategies involved in the realisation of this prominent theme throughout FP7.
