EC uploads eTen videos to its website

The European Commission has added videos of some of the eTen funded initiatives on its website in order to provide support for the ongoing projects funded under the EC programme, including six e-health related films.
eTen was a European Community programme, which provided funds to help make e-services available throughout the European Union.
The funding programme ran between 2004 and 2006 and the website now provides support to its initiatives with one project awarded ‘project of the month’ status every month. Some of these have produced informational videos, which were initially promoted on ‘EU Tube’ – the Commission’s YouTube channel.
These videos have now been uploaded onto the eTen website. There are 13 ‘project of the month’ films and four spotlight videos looking at areas of the eTen programme in more detail.
Six films relate to e-health with videos on the use of tele-health from Medical Care Continuity and HealthService24, a project addressing e-health and eInclusion requirements amongst these.
Each video offers a link to the project’s own website and a link to its eTen factsheet. Basic details of each project are also displayed under the video for the viewer to have an idea of what the system has to offer.
“It is very important for the Commission to use all the means at its disposal when it comes to communicating with European citizens. We can not ignore the developments which have taken place on the internet in the past few years, in particular the popularity of video sharing,” said Margot Wallström, vice-president of the European Commission and Commissioner for Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy.
