Brother releases new printers with multiple trays
- 7 March 2006
Brother has announced new models of printers aimed specifically for primary care that now feature both prescription printing trays and additional ones for headed or plain paper.
Lesley Howe, customer marketing communications manager for Brother, explained that the new HL-5200 series was an update to the existing model, used, she claimed, in 70% of GP surgeries.
"We’ve given this new range the option of a second tray, as there are some very obvious uses for it – added paper capacity, but also to store various types of paper at one time.
"The real bonus for GP surgeries is that Brother printers have a special added inner tray for doctors’ prescriptions."
There are four models in the range, from an entry-level non-networked system, to the full specification with a three-colour LCD screen and wireless networking. Brother is also claiming that efficiency has been improved.
The printers link in with EMIS, In Practice Systems and iSoft clinical software, and each tray can hold 250 sheets.
