Agfa selected as Accenture’s PACS supplier

Agfa-Gevaert has formally announced that it has been selected by Accenture to provide digital radiology imaging management solutions to the North East and East clusters in England as part of Accenture’s work in delivering the NHS National Programme for IT.

Agfa will provide include Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Computed Radiography (CR).

The NPfIT aims to integrate radiology images across England, ultimately allowing images stored in the North East and East regions to be transmitted and viewed digitally with Agfa’s IMPAX PACS solutions. North East and East clusters encompass 30 trusts made up of 75 hospitals that conduct approximately 10 million radiology exams per year.

Agfa’s HealthCare business group supplies hospitals and other healthcare centers with state-of-the-art systems for the capturing, processing and managing of diagnostic images, together with IT solutions that integrate the imaging workflow into the overall hospital operations across departmental disciplines.

Agfa is also a market leader supplying IT systems that span the entire healthcare enterprise, following its January 2005 purchase of GWI AG In 2004 Agfa-Gavaert had a turnover of 3.76 million Euros.
