NPfIT puts availability statistics online

The National Programme for IT have started to publish uptime statistics on their website for the data spine, N3 and Choose and Book, as well as the local North-East cluster’s SAP service, as provided by Accenture. Monthly and weekly uptime statistics are available, stretching back to September for the national services and November for the SAP service. However, the figures refer to the availability of the central service, rather than the availability and uptime of individual implementations. Figures of 100% availability have been given for N3 and Choose and Book for the past three months. Contractual targets are also supplied for comparison; the spine achieved 96.4% availability in November, down from the contractual target of 99.8%. The weekly figures are also calculated on a Monday-Friday basis, and do not take account of weekends. Monthly figures do include weekends, but also take account of ‘maintenance’ and ‘scheduled upgrades’. In the statement accompanying stateme, NPfIT said that the publication “demonstrates the National Programme’s continuing commitment to openness."
