👭 Deepwrk has launched a digital health platform that provides peer support and gamification to help people with ADHD improve their focus, achieve more and live better. According to a press release, the platform connects adults for one-hour focus sessions “where they work together, motivate each other, and hold each other accountable”.

🎖️ Professor Anthony Gordon, critical care consultant at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is among the NHS workers recognised as part of the King’s Birthday Honours list, according to a press release from the trust. Professor Gordon’s work has involved developing personalised treatment approaches, using AI to adapt treatment strategies and he was awarded an MBE.

📲 Detox Today has launched a remote care model to support individuals in remote communities across the UK, according to a press release published on 18 June. The service offers treatment for alcoholism and alcohol dependence and the remote model ensures that even the most isolated individuals can access suitable care.

🔒 According to National Health Executive, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has installed a new security and network operations centre (SNOC). It will give the NHS Wales’ site improved operational oversight and protection against cyber threats. The project to install the new SNOC was led by the health board’s digital data and technology team as part of an improvement project.

📈 Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s annual plan 2024/2025, published 14 June, notes one of three key priorities for the trust will be its goal to become a “more digitally-enabled and information-driven” organisation. Plans include giving all teams access to an electronic patient record system.

A workforce survey from the Royal College of Nursing’s information and learning team (RCNi) found that the primary reason NHS nurses leave their jobs is owing to administrative burden.

Of 2,797 nurses who responded to the survey in October 2023, 42% said they spend at least half of their working week on non-clinical tasks, such as responding to complaints and ordering transport.

A report from business solutions firm SPS, published on 11 June 2024, says that these admin tasks could potentially be managed using digital solutions.

📖 What we’re reading

The report ‘The Connected Health Revolution’, published by Capgemini Research Institute on 18 June 2024, says that 63% of life sciences organisations operating in the biopharma and medtech sectors, have connected health products either already on the market or currently under development.

In addition, three out of five organisations are currently developing a roadmap for integrating generative AI.
