Maven Clinic delivers virtual menopausal support to BSI employees
Maven Clinic, the world’s largest virtual clinic for women and families, has partnered with BSI to provide BSI employees worldwide access to Maven’s Menopause and Ongoing Care programme.
The partnership means BSI – the business improvement and standards company – can offer its staff 24/7 unlimited access to dedicated care advocates and menopause specialists, including nutritionists, mental health providers, pelvic floor physical therapists, career coaches and obstetrician-gynaecologists.
In addition, clinically sound education and provider-moderated drop-in groups are available to support members. Plus employees will be able to access virtual care with specialists across more than 35 different languages via video or message chat.
It’s the latest step for BSI towards inclusivity, which has already shown its commitment to supporting its employees as they navigate the menopause. In May last year, it published a first-of-its-kind workplace standard menopause, menstrual health and menstruation in the workplace, BS 30416. This sets out simple changes that can help create a more inclusive and productive environment.
According to a 2019 study from the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD), three in five menopausal women were negatively impacted at work, while almost 900,000 women in the UK left their jobs due to menopausal symptoms, over an undefined period of time.
Leila Thabet, VP global growth and partnerships at Maven, said: “BSI has paved the way for what good menopause care should look like at work. It’s a privilege to partner with an organisation that is a true champion of equity in the workplace, including their own.”
Anne Hayes, director of sectors, BSI, added: “As we think about helping women take charge of midlife health and thrive in their careers, we know that providing access to comprehensive menopause support is mission critical.”
She continued: “Employers have the potential to be a key resource and vital avenue of support, while helping to advance society’s journey in tackling how menopause is approached. At BSI we are thrilled to partner with Maven to build on our existing offering and give our employees globally access to quality care to continue our journey in building a more diverse and equitable working future.”
It has been just over a year since Maven Clinic acquired digital health company Naytal, in order to speed up its expansion within the UK and throughout Europe.
