Propel@YH Boot Camp announces Nordic cohorts
- 26 January 2023
Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network has announced the eight health innovators from the Nordic region who will be joining the second international Propel@YH Boot Camp.
The Boot Camp aims to support the best health innovations globally and make them available to patients in the Yorkshire & Humber region first.
The scheme also brings inward investment to the area. The inaugural Boot Camp in 2022 resulted in three of the five US companies participating in the international programme establishing their UK headquarters in Leeds.
The eight companies joining the 2023 Propel@YH Boot Camp are:
- Cuviva: a communication platform to support individually adapted care at home.
- Dignacare (Senscom): a sensor that can alert when an incontinence product needs to be changed via an app.
- Leviosa: a solution to improve the documentation module interface for clinicians, using templates, dynamic forms, AI and augmentation and natural language processing.
- Lifeness: a cloud-based platform to improve follow-ups for people with obesity and lifestyle diseases.
- Njord Medtech: an organisation solving unmet needs in radiology and patient handling.
- Smart Crowding: a SaaS system to enhance hospitals and trusts with operational leadership for patient flow management and resource planning.
- Thula: an innovative software solutions provider targeting the healthcare market.
- Visikon: end-to-end digital health communication platform, including MyTreatment, educating patients on what to expect before, during and after treatment.
Neville Young, director of enterprise and innovation at Yorkshire & Humber AHSN, said: “It’s great to see innovative companies from across the globe wanting to bring their products to the UK, particularly here in Yorkshire and the Humber.
“As part of our mission to support economic growth and improve the health and wellbeing of our region, the Propel@YH Boot Camp helps secure investment and jobs by attracting these businesses to the NHS market.
“If we can successfully support these innovators to establish themselves in Yorkshire, we can use the great regional assets we have available to us and the strength of the AHSN Network to spread these innovations across the country, securing investment, jobs and health and wellbeing benefits for the whole of the UK.”
The selected innovators will have the opportunity to take part in a range of masterclasses, workshops and networking events across Leeds.
The content will be geared towards understanding how the NHS works, including NHS governance, finance and procurement frameworks, clinical safety and supplier regulations and developing evidence-based proposals and reimbursement models.
Back in October Yorkshire & Humber AHSN announced the participants of its fourth digital health accelerator programme, Propel@YH.
