Thomson Reuters reportedly hire former NHS Digital CEO Sarah Wilkinson

Toronto-based Thomson Reuters has reportedly hired the former CEO of NHS Digital as its chief information officer to boost its technology expertise.

Sarah Wilkinson was most recently in her role at NHS Digital until last year and has previously been a technology executive for Credit Suisse. She will move from London to Zug, Switzerland for the role, Finews has reported.

Named as the most influential person in UK IT in 2021, Wilkinson will become the second high-profile addition to the Thomson Reuters team in the space of two years.

Kirsty Both joined as its chief operations and technology officer in 2020, becoming one of 11 Thomson Reuters executive directors and officers, providing a significant boost of technology expertise for the company.

Wilkinson became CEO of NHS Digital in 2017 and spent four years in the role before stepping down in the summer of 2021. Last April, Simon Bolton replaced her as interim chief executive following her decision to move on.

The news of Wilkinsonā€™s move to Switzerland to join Thomson Reuters was confirmed by a company spokeswoman who also revealed Wilkinson will be running the Thomson Reutersā€™ research division, TR Labs.
