Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS FT pens £10m deal with Civica

The beginning of the month saw Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust announce it had penned a £10million deal with Civica to develop its electronic patient record (EPR).

The eight-year deal will see the trust implement Civica’s Health and Care EPR cloud product suite, comprising of Cito Paris and Civica Prescribing. This will allow Greater Manchester to consolidate all patient data and workflow capabilities to deliver fast, effective and safe care to mental health patients.

The deal will provide a unified EPR and case management functionality which will allow the trust to support mental health patients from first contact through to assessment care plans, management of beds for in-patient wards and prescriptions administration.

Final phase of Cheshire and Merseyside child health project goes live

Also this month we have seen the the roll out of the final phase of the Cheshire and Merseyside Child Health Information Service (CHIS).

The latest go-live across St Helens and Knowsley and Wirral and involved migrating 372,000 children’s records.

The fully digital service is playing an important role in public health for Cheshire and Merseyside’s children.  Care professionals can track children from childhood through to their transition to adult services and have access to all the relevant information to provide suitable care.

Tavistock and Portman NHS FT deploys virtualised desktop service

March also saw Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust deploy a virtualised desktop service (VDI) to help support staff during the current pandemic.

The project resulted in the development of the AIMES M-Cloud solution, which provided a pay-as-you-use model for desktop computing based upon the concurrent usage of the devices rather than the number staff employed.

In practice, the solution provided a flexible pool of virtual desktop’s that users can log in to. Once their work was performed they can then log out and the virtual desktop is returned to the pool.

Derbyshire ICS signs 10-year shared records deal with Orion Health

Finally, March also saw a Derbyshire integrated care system sign a 10-year partnership with Orion Health.

The deal aims give staff working across Joined Up Care Derbyshire access to information held in the existing medical interoperability gateway by March. Access to data, defined by NHSX as the minimum viable solution for a shared care record, is expected by September.

Joined Up Care Derbyshire will also use Orion’s Discover analytics platform to improve information sharing across Derby, Chesterfield and surrounding areas.
