Trustedoctor merges with insurance firm to provide better access to care

Digital health company Trustedoctor is set to merge with insurance solution firm Further to provide “cross-border” health insurance.

The merger aims to address a fast-growing demand for insurers and employers to provide affordable solutions and treatments for serious medical conditions.

The companies will offer a new, holistic solution for the treatment of serious illness, enabling patients to receive timely access to specialists and hospitals both in person and remotely.

It will create “significant value” for insurers, employers and users, the companies claimed.

Greg Jarząbek, chief executive of Trustedoctor, said: “This highly strategic merger will create a new market-leader in borderless, complete healthcare solutions and provide a unique opportunity for us to collectively grow our network of doctors and hospitals.

“This will ultimately mean that more patients see the benefits of world-leading medical expertise.”

Frank Ahedo, chief executive of Further, added: “By merging, Further and Trustedoctor are leading the way in affordable insurance solutions for serious illnesses. Both organisations share the same fundamental principle: a belief that it should be as easy as possible for patients with serious medical conditions to access the best medical specialists and treatment options, wherever they are in the world.”
