Dublin-based healthcare clinic to go live with Aptvision RIS
- 5 July 2024
Dublin-based healthcare provider Sana Health Diagnostic is implementing a radiology information system (RIS) solution from Aptvision to advance the accessibility of medical services in urban areas.
The integration of Aptivision’s VisionRIS-Professional software-as-a-service (SaaS) is aimed to help Sana Health Diagnostic benefit from improved booking processes, performance and reporting of ultrasound scans.
According to Aptvision, the service is due to go live before the end of July 2024.
John Cronin, clinic director at Sana Health Diagnostic, added: “We needed a reliable and secure technology platform to manage our ultrasound services efficiently.
“VisionRIS-Professional SaaS not only meets our operational needs but also supports our goal of delivering high-quality healthcare services.
“The cloud-based system offers the flexibility to expand our operations — in both size and geography — seamlessly as we grow.”
Anthony Dooher, board member and business development manager at Aptvision, said that Sana needed to ensure compliance with Irish laws on data governance and security, which are crucial when handling sensitive patient records.
“More than this, it means implementing tried-and-tested successes from peer environments.
“Sana has sights set on ambitious growth in 2024 and beyond, so having a robust platform that ensures efficiency, productivity, and security — all while containing cost outlay — is a true cornerstone of success.
“With this expanding footprint, proactive and preventative healthcare services can penetrate more urban populations to come.”
In a previous collaboration Aptvision’s RIS was added to Canon Medical Systems Europe’s imaging solutions, in June 2024 .
Meanwhile in January 2024, health tech provider Vertex launched a RIS solution in the UK aimed at helping imaging departments to alleviate bottlenecks and improve throughput of diagnostic reports.
Digital Health Intelligence released its latest report in June 2024, analysing RIS and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) market changes across English NHS acute trusts from September 2018 to May 2024.
