Former NHS England transformation director Dr Tim Ferris has been hired once again by NHSE to advice on how billions of pounds of promised technology funding should be spent.

Ferris, who served as NHSEā€™s transformation director from May 2023 to summer 2023, is helping NHSE plan for how the Ā£3.4 billion for NHS technology pledged in the governmentā€™s budget should be prioritised.


Ruth May has announced her retirement after five years as chief nursing officer at NHS England and a career in the NHS lasting almost 40 years. She will depart later this year.


Alan McCarthy announced he will step down as chair of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust after completing his second term.


Ann James stepped down as CEO of University Hospitals Plymouth Trust at the end of March 2024 after 12 years in post, and is now retired.


Sir David Behan has been appointed as the new chair of Kingā€™s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Behan is currently a non-executive director on NHS Englandā€™s board, where his term ends this summer.


David Walliker joined Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust as chief digital and information officer on 28 April 2024. Prior to that, he was the chief digital partnership officer at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


Gurnak Singh Dosanjh started his new role as deputy chief clinical information officer (CCIO) at NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB last month. He was previously the ICB’s clinical lead/GP.


Global healthcare leader Professor Mark Britnell is to join Health Innovation Manchester as chair in September. He will take over from Rowena Burns, who was an original founder of HInM, and has been at the helm for several successful years. Burns will step down once her final tenure ends in the summer.Ā  Ā 


Sean Duggan joined Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as chair on 1 April 2024. He was previously chief executive of the NHS Confederation Mental Health Network.


Former director of partnerships at North East London Foundation Trust, Selina Douglas, joined Leeds Community Healthcare Trust as CEO in April.
