Beamtree UK has announced the appointment of former NHSX and NHS England chief nursing information officer Professor Natasha Phillips as clinical lead and clinical safety officer.

Joining initially in a part-time basis, Professor Phillips will be leading engagement with professional staff and ensuring safety requirements are in place as Beamtree rolls out AI and machine learning supported solutions in partnership with the NHS.


Caroline Trevithick has been appointed interim chief executive of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board for what it said in an announcement to its system would be ā€œan extended interim periodā€, after the retirement of current chief Andy Williams later this month.


Another ICB in the Midlands region, Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent, has confirmed it has appointed Peter Axon ā€“ who was appointed its interim CEO in 2021 ā€“ to the same position substantively.

GS1 UK has announced that Stephen Bush, medical director for operations at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, has been appointed to the supervisory board as a non-executive director.

Bush has long been a champion of GS1 standards in healthcare and will play a crucial role in deepening GS1 UKā€™s engagement with clinical stakeholders across the four nations.

University Hospitals of Leicester Trust, Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust, and Northampton General Hospital Trust have been brought under one leader, following the appointment of John MacDonald as joint chair of the three trusts.


Ian Hogan has started a new position as chief information officer at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.


Sir Jim Mackey has been named the new chief executive at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Foundation Trust, with Dame Emily Lawson taking over as NHS England interim chief operating officer when Sir Mackey leaves to join Newcastle Hospitals in the new year.

Sir Mackey will also leave Northumbria Healthcare FT, where he has been CEO for more than 18 years but will continue to lead theĀ national elective recovery programme at NHSE.


EIT Health, Europeā€™s largest health innovation network, has announced two key appointments within itsĀ Ireland-UKĀ team. Shona D’Arcy joins as entrepreneurship lead, and Patrick Reidy assumes the role of collaboration lead.

Both will help health innovators in Ireland and the UK access collaborative opportunities across the network, which is made up of 130+ leading organisations from business, education, research and health service delivery.
