ORCHA ranks Health & Her app number 1 for menopause
An app created for women going through perimenopause and menopause has been ranked number one by the Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps (ORCHA).
The Health & Her app scored 86% in its latest ORCHA review, making it the highest-ever ORCHA-rated menopause app on the UK market.
Kate Bache, CEO and co-founder of Health & Her, said: “We are delighted to be recognised as the no.1 rated app for menopause with an 86% score.
“Unlike many other apps available for female health, we are also proud that our app is completely free to download and use.
“We are continually looking to improve the support for women going through hormonal change and we have worked hard to enhance the functionality in response to customer feedback. To receive this rating means that all our hard work is paying off and we are doing the right thing for women.”
The ORCHA review related to version 1.6 of the app, which is designed to support women as they experience perimenopause and menopause. It offers evidence-based exercises, interactive tools and personalised insights to help women manage their symptoms. It includes a free menopause symptom checker as well as free expert advice from a range of experts including GPs, nutritionists, menopause coaches, psychologists and more.
ORCHA is the largest independent researcher of digital healthcare apps in Europe. The organisation works closely with the NHS to establish criteria for trustworthy apps for health conditions.
According to ORCHA, 75% of health apps failed to pass its review process, meaning they can’t be included on its digital health libraries.
It already supplies digital health libraries to 70% of NHS regions, supporting healthcare professionals to recommend and prescribe tried and trusted healthcare apps to their patients. It recently launched two tailored products, including the country’s first Digital Health Formulary, which helps ensure safe digital prescribing for clinicians for more complex apps.
