The latest edition of Movers and Shakers features appointments at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
Professor Phil Wood, chief medical officer and deputy chief executive at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, has been announced as the new chief executive of the trust and begun his role on 1 February 2023.
Professor Wood said: āI am thrilled to be taking the role of chief executive of one of the largest and busiest teaching hospitals in the country. As we know, the past few years have been incredibly challenging for staff, patients and all healthcare colleagues.
āHowever, by working together, being patient focused and using our strong improvement methods, I believe we can take Leeds Teaching Hospitals on to the next part of its journey and to further success.ā
A note to NHS England staff from transformation director Dr Tim Ferris has confirmed that Milton Keynes University Hospital Trust chief executive Professor Joe Harrison has been appointed national director: NHS digital channels, in addition to his trust CEO role.
One of Englandās smallest trusts, Queen Victoria Hospital Foundation Trust in West Sussex, has appointed Tony Chambers as interim chief executive for nine months while it recruits a permanent replacement.
Chambers has most recently been leading the team which delivered the new Liverpool Royal University Hospital. Previous to that, he held interim chief executive roles at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust.
Elaine Coghill has been appointed as the new deputy chief nurse at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She will join from South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, where she is currently deputy director of nursing, on 11 April 2023.
Professor Sally Hardy, who has a background as a mental health nurse, researcher, and educator, joined the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Board on 9 January 2023.
With a clinical background in mental health and extensive experience of developing new and better ways to deliver clinical services, Professor Hardy has joined the regionās mental health service as its first associate non-executive director for partnerships.
Last month, Mike Emery started his role as chief digital officer and director of digital innovation at NHS Wales, after leaving his role as director of digital, data and technology and ICS chief digital information officer at NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
