Sonrai Analytics secures investment from US firm Eckuity

Northern Irish artificial intelligence (AI) innovator, Sonrai Analytics, has secured investment from healthtech venture firm Eckuity.

Sonrai Analytics, founded in 2018, will use the cash injection from the US firm to support its plans to diversify its market segments and strengthen its commercial aspirations.

Its AI data analytics platform and services streamlines precision medicine organisations’ ability to identify, validate and productise novel biomarkers, treatments and clinical algorithms.

Dr Darragh McArt, founder of and chief executive officer at Sonrai Analytics, said: “This additional capital further strengthens our commercial aspirations and allows us to diversify our market segments.

“We are delighted to have Eckuity join our team as we accelerate opportunities in the US and to provide advice and support as we progress the business.”

The Sonrai Analytics platform applies AI and deep learning to unlock critical information in big data, enabling biotech and pharma companies to collaborate and transform datasets in real time.

Mark Goldstone, partner at Eckuity, said: “Research companies and organisations are already sitting on a treasure trove of data, if only they could access it in a way that is easy to view and simple to interrogate.

“Sonrai incorporates data visualisation and predictive analytics into workflows to accelerate organisational processes, improve performance and unlock corporate value. We are very excited about the impact that Sonrai will have on the market.”

The investment follows a £2.2m seed funding round for Sonrai Analytics in May this year, aimed at speeding up global adoption of its technology.
