Servelec acquired by local government software provider Access Group

Digital software provider Servelec has been acquired by the health and social care division of The Access Group.

Access provides software for local government, health and social care and said it hopes the deal will allow the company to offer integrated solutions and services across these sectors. This will involve combining Accessā€™ suite of health and social care solutions with Servelecā€™s integration technology across social care, healthcare, education and youth services.

Servelec is a supplier to both NHS trusts and local authorities, and has recently acquired Elemental Software, a provider of social prescribing technology.

Steve Sawyer, managing director of The Access Groupā€™s health and social care division, will lead the business supported by Servelecā€™s existing leadership team including Steve Wightman, healthcare managing director and David McKinney, local government managing director.

Elemental Software will continue to be led by co-founders Jennifer Neff and Leeann Monk-Ozgul, while Servelecā€™s chief executive officer Ian Crichton will step down after supporting the initial transition.

Steve Sawyer said:Ā ā€œThrough the use of our technology and services, Accessā€™ purpose is to support customers with the freedom to deliver outstanding care. Combined with Servelecā€™s focus on improving lives with technology that matters, and Elementalā€™s work to reduce health inequalities through the social prescribing movement, we have the opportunity to make a real difference together.

ā€œAligned to the governmentā€™s strategy for integrated health and social care, this deal will help us create better outcomes for clinicians, social care professionals and other care providers, plus the people they support.

ā€œFrom the point of first need through to the delivery and monitoring of services, we aim to provide more efficient, cost-effective services, help the NHS and local government track and plan for long-term challenges, and provide a continuous integrated view of a personā€™s health and social care journey.ā€

Servelec and Elementalā€™s products will continue alongside Accessā€™ portfolio of health and social care solutions and will be brought onto the Access Workspace platform, providing a single sign-on and integration with the wider Access portfolio.
