The February edition of Movers and Shakers features a new deputy CIO at NHSX and a new board secretary for Digital Health and Care Wales.
NHSX has announced that Louis Bradshaw has been appointed as deputy CIO at the organisation.
Sonia Patel, who is NHSX’s CIO, made the announcement on Twitter and said she was “delighted” to welcome Bradshaw to the team.
She added: “He [Bradshaw] brings a wealth of public and private technology and data expertise to support and enable the What Good Looks Like framework for local ICSs and orgs.”

Lisa WardĀ has been appointed as the associate director of nursing and CNIO at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
Speaking about her new role on Twitter, Ward said she was “really looking forward to the new challenge”.

Chris Darling has been appointed board secretary for Digital Health and Care Wales, which launches on 1 April 2021 and replaces the NHS Wales Informatics Service.
He will join the new organisation from Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, where he is currently assistant director of corporate business and chief of staff to the chief executive.
Darling, who joins the organisation in February, will be leading on Digital Health and Care Wales’ response to its escalation status (special measures for maternity services and targeted intervention for quality and governance) and the Cwm Taf Morgannwg improvement framework for quality and governance.
He said: “I am excited to be joining at the outset of the new organisation. I am passionate about corporate governance, and believe good governance provides the foundation for organisational high performance, as well as increased stakeholder trust and confidence.ā
Paul Jackson has joined CliniSys as group marketing director.
Jackson joins CliniSys Group with responsibility for marketing in the UK and Ireland through its CliniSys division, and across Europe.
He brings over twenty years healthcare IT marketing, communications and PR experience to the group and was previously head of marketing, Europe North, at imaging IT specialists Agfa HealthCare.
Paul Jackson said: āCliniSys is at the heart of an exciting transformation in the delivery of diagnostic services and the digital solutions that are supporting this change. I am very much looking forward to supporting and helping guide CliniSys at a time of rapid advances in areas such as digital pathology, diagnostic hubs, genomics and the explosion in diagnostic data, as well as new working practices arising from the challenges of the global pandemic.
āMarketing planning is well underway and there will be a programme of initiatives to support the CliniSys Groupās marketing and corporate goals.ā
Health technology company Visionable has appointed David Walker as its chief commercial officer.
As the companyās first CCO, Walker will be responsible for developing and creating new partnerships with international organisations to expand Visionableās presence. He will also be responsible for identifying new markets.
Walkerās previous experience includes senior commercial roles at Sky Television, Dyson, fintech Neyber, and most recently as CCO of AI based technology company Winnow.
He said: āVisionable is at an exciting phase of its development, experiencing exceptional demand, poised to scale up and with patented and unique technology to support its vision. Ā Iām delighted to join the Visionable team and be involved in this next stage of the companyās growth.ā
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has appointed four new non-executive CQC Board members – Belinda Black, Mark Chambers, Sally Cheshire and Stephen Marston.
They replace Professor Louis Appleby, Paul Corrigan, Sir John Oldham and Paul Rew who have retired, and Liz Sayce who will retire at the end of January 2021.
Peter Wyman, chair of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), said: “I am delighted Belinda, Mark, Sally, Stephen and Ali are joining our board.
“Together their appointments bring a wealth of relevant and diverse experience which complements the expertise we already have through our continuing board members.
“On behalf of the rest of the board, I would like to welcome them to CQC, and I look forward to working with them as we develop and deliver our future strategy.”
