Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS FT signs 10-year deal with Civica

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has signed a ten-year contract with Civica to deliver the Cito enterprise document and content management system (EDCM).

The deal, worth £3million, will see Civica providing the cloud enabled Cito software as part of the trust’s wider Apollo EHR digital transformation programme, which centred around Epic’s suite of health care products to transform patient care.

Cito will be deployed in the cloud for scalability and ease of access. It will be fully integrated with the Trust’s Epic EHR and, along with Epic, is scheduled to go-live in April 2023.

It will deliver a real-time, single view of each patient’s electronic documents by unifying and structuring these into a customisable electronic health record. Combined with Epic it will help reduce the reliance on paper case notes.

Robyn Tolley, Apollo programme director at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Guy’s and St Thomas’ is pleased and excited to have procured Civica as a key partner and supplier of digital content services to the Apollo programme and the Trust as a whole.”

Selected following a competitive procurement process, Cito will support the trust in delivering its paperless and digital strategy. Once Cito is fully implemented with Epic it will be one of the health sector’s largest cloud EDCM deployments.

Steve Brain, executive director health and care at Civica, added: “Combined with Epic, Cito will support the provision of effective clinical pathways with assured decisions and operational efficiencies, helping to deliver high-quality care at Guy’s and St Thomas’.

“We’re delighted to be playing a key role in the trust’s digital transformation programme with Epic, providing the software and high-quality data to help improve patient care for all in the future.”
