Framework for NHS trusts to adopt innovative digital solutions launched
- 5 February 2021
A framework to help NHS trusts adopt innovative digital solutions like artificial intelligence has been launched.
The updated Medical IT departmental software and hardware solutions framework gives trusts access to 74 suppliers and range of flexible IT software designed to modernise systems and increase efficiency.
It launched on 1 February and runs for two years until 31 January 2023.
Run by NHS Supply Chain, the framework aims to encourage NHS trusts to further their digital capabilities through the use of tools including artificial intelligence (AI), business analytics, data management and cloud-based software.
Trusts can specify and create bespoke clinical solutions across single or multiple departments, sites and trusts, supported by NHS Supply Chain.
Phil Scott, NHS Supply Chainās trading manager maintenance and services, said: āMedical IT systems are essential to the NHS digital transformation as every hospital requires a way to store, manage and share vital patient data across each site, region and even nation.
āOur updated and improved Medical IT framework aligns to the national NHS digital strategy.
āIt enables us to provide individually tailored support to acute trusts in procuring a range of cross department digital solutions and supporting hardware from a range of leading technology suppliers, in a rapidly evolving landscape.
āOur framework solutions are cutting edge and centralise data within trusts, making internal processes more efficient – saving time and duplication of efforts.ā
