This month’s Movers and Shakers features appointments at NHSX and the first winners of the Rewired Pitchfest, TestCard.
Clare Hawkins has been appointed as a senior advisor for community care at NHSX. Hawkins, who is currently CEO at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, will be part of the joining up care programme board.
NHSX’s CNIO, Natasha Phillips, said on social media that she was “delighted” to have Hawkins join the organisation.
“A fantastic appointment bringing a wealth of community nursing and leadership experience,” she added.

The founder of NHS Choices, Jonathon Carr-Brown, has joined Your.MD as chief operations officer.
The company are the creators of Healthily, a self-care app which gives people access to information, guidance and support for their health.
Carr-Brown forms a senior management team which includes CEO and co-founder, Matteo Berlucchi, along with medical director and former RCGP chair, Professor Maureen Baker.
Mark England has been named CEO of healthcare company HN.
England, who joined HN in October 2019, has develop new services and helped grow strategic partnerships.
Prior to working at HN, England was deputy national director for urgent and emergency care at NHS England and NHS Improvement.
He said:Â âAfter working at HN for a year, I have become more and more impressed by our dynamic staff, their expertise, commitment and the solutions they have developed.
“I am excited to have this opportunity to further our contribution to the patients we currently support, and also to work with new areas and systems to make proactive personalised care a reality in the NHS and beyond.â
Rewired Pitchfest winners, Testcard, has announced the arrival of four new senior managers.
Howard Meitiner, has been appointed chairman while Andrew Vallance-Owen is the start-up’s new chief medical officer.
They will be joined by TestCardâs founder investor, Chris Craig-Wood, who has been appointed chief commercial officer and Simon Lints who is head of Asia Pacific.
Commenting on the appointments, TestCard CEO. Luke Heron. said, âWe have been on an extraordinary journey over the past couple of years.
“These appointments to the board are a testament to the companyâs ambition. All four bring an unrivalled wealth of knowledge and expertise, which will help TestCard continue to grow as it delivers its disruptive at-home healthcare solution to the market across multiple territories.â
And finally, Sensyne Health has appointed Michael Macdonnell as chief operating officer.
Michael was previously director of global deployment at Google Health. Prior to that he was the national director of system transformation and director of strategy at NHS England.
