Our September edition of Movers and Shakers features appointments at Leeds Academic Health Partnership and Health Education England.
Dr Liz Mear has been appointed as managing director for Leeds Academic Health Partnership (LAHP).
Dr Mear is currently chief executive of the Innovation Agency, the Academic Health Science Network for the North West Coast. She is also an external director of the Northern Health Science Alliance and of Liverpool Local Enterprise Partnership, as well as a non-executive director for Health Education England.
From November, as its new managing director, Liz will lead the LAHP into its next phase.
She said: “The impact of the pandemic over recent months has emphasised the crucial work of the LAHP – to collaborate to help reduce health inequalities, spur inclusive economic growth and transform the quality and efficiency of health and care for the people of Leeds and beyond.
“Itās an exciting and hugely important challenge and I look forward to starting in November.ā
Health Education England has appointed Dr Harpreet Sood as a non-executive director (NED) to its board.
Dr Sood works as an NHS GP in London and is also co-founder and strategic advisor to the NHS Digital Academy. He has served as the associate CCIO at NHS England.
He said: āI am delighted to become a non-executive director with HEE at this inflection point for the NHS. Particularly given that digital technology is of such importance to the workforce and can provide real opportunities to make a difference and enhance patientsā lives.ā
Healthcare technology company Reframe has appointed Dan McGraw as its chief commercial officer.
His previous experience includes roles at Nuance Healthcare where he was general manager of EMEA healthcare and, prior to that, vice president of North American sales.
Following his time at Nuance, McGraw took up a role as chief commercial officer for Vision Healthcare.
At Reframe, McGraw will be responsible for growing the businessā service offering, as well as expanding its client base and entering new markets.
Digital healthcare company Channel 3 has appointed Martin Tennant as a partner.
Tennant has spent 30 years supporting international healthcare and life sciences organisations to deliver more effectively and efficiently through the novel use of technology.
He joins Channel 3 from PA Consulting, where he led major national and regional digital health programmes including delivery of the first wave of local health and care records.
Tennant said: “Iām delighted to be joining Channel 3 at such an exciting time for the company and when the positive impact of digital health on the care of patients is being felt more than ever.
“Channel 3 is at the forefront of innovations in digital health and I look forward to working with the team and with clients across health and care in the UK.ā
