Cerner announces partnership with STP to connect information

Cerner has announced it is teaming up with a sustainability and transformation partnership (STP) in north London to connect and share health information.

The new partnership between the supplier and five London boroughs will allow the sharing of health records across care settings and will cover almost 1.5 million people.

The North London Partners (NLP) patch will also use Cerner’s cloud-based HealtheIntent population health management platform. This helps create a single record for individuals within the STP, with data drawn from a wide range of health and care settings across the STP.

It is hoped this data will allow local care organisations to plan how they deliver care and ultimately keep people well and out of hospital.

The platform also aims to highlight gaps in care, enabling organisations to act on information and match the right care programmes to the right people.

Geoff Segal, Cerner UK general manager, said: “Clinical decisions, underpinned by accessible, current information at the point of care, forms the basis of a safe patient journey. In addition, advanced data intelligence presents a huge opportunity to provide value-driven, integrated care.

“Our partnership supports these aims across the North London region and with a single source of truth. NLP will be able to identify at-risk patients, and make time appropriate interventions to ultimately improve the health outcomes and wellbeing of their communities.”

The NLP is the sustainability and transformation partnership for North Central London, and includes health and care organisations from the five London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington.

This includes local NHS trusts and clinical commissioning groups (CCGs).

Digital Health News recently reported that more than £400 million is to be allocated to STPs to bolster provider digitisation.
