Leeds and York Partnership NHS FT selects CareWorks for new EPR

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has selected CareWorks Limited to supply its electronic patient record (EPR).

The £3 million contract is due to run for seven years and has the option to be extended for another three, according to Digital Health Intelligence.

The trust, which is a main provider of specialist mental health and learning disability services in Leeds, issued a tender for a new EPR in September 2017. It has run Civica’s Paris EPR since 2011.

Speaking at the time when the tender for the new EPR was sent out, Nick Venters, consultant psychiatrist and CCIO at the trust said the re-procurement was to ensure that “we have the best possible system that serves the needs of our patients”.

Data from Digital Health Intelligence, ranks the trust 20 out of 34 mental health trusts in annual IT spend levels.

It has an annual turnover of £153m and around 2,600 staff members.

CareWorks, which was established in 1997, is based in Ireland but also supplies software to customers in the UK and the USA.
