South West Yorkshire selects SystmOne for trust-wide deployment

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has inked a five-year contract with TPP to deploy the SystmOne Mental Health EPR across all of its services.

The trust, which delivers mental health and community services to people primarily living in the areas of Wakefield, Barnsley, Calderdale and Kirklees, is moving from its previous clinical system, Servelec’s RiO.

Currently the trust uses two core clinical systems; RiO, which is used in mental health and inpatients; and TPP’s SystmOne, which is used in its community services but will now move to using SystmOne across all of its services.

The choice to move to SystmOne came after an extensive tender process, with the trust citing improved functionality and the wide use of SystmOne in primary care in the region surrounding the trust as its primary reasons for switching.

The trust, which employs around 4,500 staff members, aims to go live with SystmOne in early 2019.

Ed Reid, South West Yorkshire Partnership’s programme director, said SystmOne “meets all of our requirements across the trust.”

The contract is an addition to the existing Shared Business Service (SBS) Framework deal the trust has with TPP.

Paul Wye, account manager at TPP, added: “We’re really excited to be bringing South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust onto SystmOne Mental Health. As such a large trust with a variety of community and mental health services on offer, for a broad geography of patients, the ability for them to have a truly integrated shared record will bring huge benefits.”

In a separate story, it was reported in April that Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust signed a contract to deploy SystmOne across Mental Health services.
