700+ practices get Vision+

More than 700 UK practices have been upgraded to a new version of their INPS clinical system called Vision+.

Vision+ is a free upgrade designed to help GP practices record high quality data during consultations and maximise practice income.

More than 730 practices are now using the system following upgrades over recent weeks.

Vision+ provides interactive alerts during consultations to highlight missing or incorrect GMS contract data and has simple data entry tools to help GPs record information quickly.

A range of risk calculators, questionnaires and assessment tools are available to provide clinical decision support during appointments. These cover healthy living and cardiovascular, mental health and respiratory conditions.

Vision+ helps practices to manage their Quality and Outcomes Framework with real-time reports that can be generated quickly at any time, including QOF point totals, prevalence and financial information, aspiration tracking, workload planning and year-on-year performance comparisons.

Practice business manager at Magdalen Medical Practice in Norwich, Garry Mahn, said Vision+ will be an invaluable tool to help manage the recent changes to QOF indicator thresholds and reduced timescales to achieve QOF success.

“It shows exactly which QOF items count and those that need completing. With domain templates and easy exception reporting there should be no excuse to miss a QOF opportunity,” he added

Vision+ also has a new recalls facility that automatically tracks the status of each patient’s recalls as letters are sent out.

Tanya Cowan, practice manager at Larne Health Centre, Northern Ireland, has been piloting Vision+ over the summer.

“Vision+ has transformed the way we manage our QOF patients with regards to recalls and scheduling, which will remove the risk of ‘lost’ recalls. My overall impression is that Vision+ is amazing!” Cowan said.

INPS managing director, Max Brighton, said Vision+ is a strategic system that will form the basis of future Vision developments.

“Vision+ provides a platform for further upgrades to Vision that will be released shortly, including anticoagulation management and a care pathway solution that allows a CCG or health board to deploy and monitor pathways across all of its practices,” he said.
