One Health Alliance gains new members

  • 29 October 2009

One Health Alliance, the ‘best of breed’ healthcare IT alliance aimed at delivering technology and information to both public and private sector organisations, has added two new members, Sunquest information systems and BridgeHead software.

The Alliance, which launched in April 2009, already included Ardentia, Clinical Solutions, System C Healthcare, Lawson Software, Perceptive Software, SciQuest, Perot Systems and Sun Microsystems.

According to the Alliance, Sunquest and BridgeHead software products and services cover two critical areas within the overall delivery of healthcare. Sunquest provides laboratory and diagnostic information solution and BridgeHead provides healthcare data management solutions.

Dr John Ironmonger, Chairman of One Health Alliance Chairman, said: “The recruitment of these new members supports the Alliance’s ambition to continue to find ways for healthcare IT vendor companies to work together collaboratively for the benefit of healthcare organisations.

“By bringing on board the technologies and experience of Sunquest and BridgeHead Software, this has helped to fill the gaps in our portfolio so that the Alliance can offer customers a ‘one-stop-shop total healthcare solution’.”

The Alliance targets healthcare organisation in Europe, Middle Eastern and African markets. It aims to reduce the complexities of commissioning IT systems and having to deal with numerous different suppliers.

David Allcock, vice president of Sunquest, said: “With more than 1,400 hospitals and commercial laboratories across the US and EMEA utilising our software and services, Sunquest has the credentials to enhance and support the objectives of the Alliance.

“Plus having already established relationships with existing members we can contribute towards the collaborative approach of providing a single point of advice for healthcare organisations taking away the risk and challenge of dealing with multiple suppliers.”
