Best practice showcase announced

  • 1 October 2009

Trusts and primary care trusts from across England will be presenting at the best practice showcase at E-Health Insider Live ’09.

NHS South Central will lead off by talking about the work it has been doing with Tribal to develop an information network to support pathway-based commissioning.

Other participants in showcase, which is free for people attending the exhibition at E-Health Insider Live ’09, include University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

It will be presenting on its work to deliver decision support to clinicians in real time, at the patient’s bedside. And BT and CSC will be talking about their work on clinical risk management and developing an emergency care solution.

On the second day of the showcase, NHS Tower Hamlets will talk about the work it is doing to deliver integrated care, and NHS Lewisham will discuss “safer, more effective care through online records access.”

NHS Nottingham and NHS Gloucestershire will be joining forces to swap experiences of telehealth projects. And Doctors.net.uk will be talking about its work on clinical engagement and “the power of cyberspace.”

Linda Davidson, director of E-Health Insider, said: “We had a lot of interest in this year’s best practice showcase and it was very hard to choose between the different projects submitted.

“The ones we have chosen are very diverse, but they are all up and running and show what can be achieved now. We hope that visitors to the exhibition will find them both stimulating and informative.”

E- Health Insider Live is taking place at The ICC, Birmingham, on 9-10 November. Stands for the exhibition are all but sold out, with more than 60 exhibitors confirmed.

Alongside the exhibition is a four stream conference, whose principal sponsor is BT. Speakers, workshops and panel debates will explore “the big picture” on UK e-health policy and strategy, benefits realisation, digital patient care and healthcare interoperability.

Many exhibitors will also be running seminars and demonstrations from their stands. For example, there will be free customer showcases in the mobile solutions village sponsored by 02 and BlackBerry, and System C will be running free demonstrations of Medway Sigma.
