Philips scores top in patient monitoring

  • 15 December 2008

Royal Philips Electronics says its customers have rated Philips Healthcare in first place in overall service performance for Patient Monitoring Systems in a US survey carried out by IMV ServiceTrak.

In the independent survey, customers were asked to rate patient monitoring systems manufacturers on a number of criteria.

The 2008 US survey scores Philips in poll position in overall manufacturer satisfaction and probability of repurchase for patient monitoring.

The IMV survey included ratings in the categories of system performance, satisfaction with the manufacturer, satisfaction with field service engineers, service performance, help desk telephone support, remote dial-in diagnostic support, and installation and training.

"We strive to continually improve the quality of the service we provide to our customers," said Tom Kirkland, senior vice president of Customer Services, North America, for Philips Healthcare.

He added: "This top ranking for patient monitoring customer services is a tribute to Philips service professionals and their dedication to helping our customers deliver the best patient care possible."

Philips has so far shipped more than 210,000 of its IntelliVue patient monitors – featuring sophisticated clinical decision support tools – which are in use in healthcare institutions worldwide.

In October 2007, Philips introduced a new patient monitor and a new multi-measurement module.

IMV Ltd is an independent healthcare research company focused on analysing the medical imaging, clinical diagnostic and instrument markets. Respondents to the annual ServiceTrak survey are drawn from a randomised database of U.S. hospitals and imaging centers.
