Intel webinar on mobility at the point of care

  • 18 June 2008

Intel Digital Health will on 26 June hold a free online web seminar on the value of mobility at the point of care.

Intel says the webinar will help participants understand the value of using mobile devices – such as the mobile clinical assistant (MCA) at the point of care within their health organisation.

As part of the web seminar case studies will be presented detailing the benefits realised by healthcare professionals at National Health Service (NHS) Lothian and Arras Hospital in France. The webinar includes examples of hospitals that deployed MCAs and have documented quantifiable business and clinical results.

The webinar is said to be targeted at people trying to understand and communicate the benefits of mobile point of care technologies within their healthcare organisation.

Intel will present its ‘Mobile Point of Care Value Model’ designed to help build a business case for mobile devices. This is claimed to provide a simple method of analyzing and documenting improvements in workflow to enable improvements in areas such as quality of care, staff satisfaction and cost optimisation.

The online event will be moderated by Mel Remington, EMEA health IT market development director, Intel Digital Health.

Featured speakers will include:

• Martin J Egan, director of e-health, NHS Lothian

• Marina Copping, clinical information manager, NHS Lothian

• Stephen McGuirk, innovation delivery manager, Intel Innovation Centre, Ireland
