First ePractice workshop declared a success

  • 26 May 2008

The first ePractice.eu mid-term workshop held last Monday in Brussels has been hailed a success by its organisers.

A total of 82 members of the online community participated in the European Commission organised event.

Several high-level experts were also in attendance and delivered key note speeches.

Amongst these were David Broster and Karel De Vriendt, Heads of Unit of the eGovernment and Interoperable Delivery of European eGovernment Services to public Administrations, Businesses and Citizen units respectively).

Also present was Gérard Comyn, director of the ICT addressing the societal challenges directorate in DG Information Society & Media.

European practitioners from both the private and public sectors joined the hands-on workshop, contributing to a day of active discussions, friendly networking and highly interesting best practice exchanges.

A majority of 96% of the participants who filled in a final survey indicated they were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the workshop.

The ePractice.eu workshops are intended to be interactive initiatives which empower its users to discuss and influence open government, policy-making and the way in which public administrations operate and deliver services.
