Care of the elderly system launched by IMS

A new system from IMS Maxims that supports the wide range of professionals caring for older people has gone live in the mid-western region of Ireland.

The Maxims Care of the Elderly (CoE) Integrated Care Records brings together information for nurses, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, doctors and other members of the care team. 

Developed in conjunction with leading practitioners, IMS Maxims say that the CoE enables the comprehensive capturing of all assessment information and combines this with historical clinical information to build a detailed electronic care record.

It has been adopted by Ireland’s Health Service Executive Mid-Western area, which covers the Limerick, Clare and Tipperary regions, and will be rolled out to the area’s centres caring for older people.

IMS Maxims says the CoE application is modular and can be extended to address the new services for older people announced in Ireland’s 2006 budget, including the initiatives for home care support packages, day/respite care centres and specialist palliative care.
